Teva Pharmaceuticals in Israel recently commisioned Harmonic Systems to create a version of its popular LMNTology web site for an Israeli audience. The new site, Elementeva.com, incorporates the same ability to "spell your name in the periodic table of the elements", but further extends the experience. The website was premiered in a science museum in Tel Aviv, where a set of 6 tablets running the web site offered users a chance to see their name in Periodic Element letters, and also read the descriptions of the elements in Hebrew. In addition, the web site allows users to print out their names on magnetized paper, post directly to their Facebook account, or send the output to friends via e-mail. I'm hoping to find other museums in the world that would like to replicate this effort and engage the audience in a deeper look into some of the elements (whether real or fictional!).
